Hey, so I have gotten an undercar kit that runs off of a 10,000 VOLT transformer, hooked into my car's 12 VOLT power supply (which is actually an AGM battery in the rear of the vehicle for whatever twisted purposes I can come up with)
Here's the deal, my first light (Which is the REAR one, remember) glows nice and bright and by the time the current makes it to that FRONT light, that bulb is BARELY lit (Initially it was only lit on ONE HALF) Now I had to add a bit of wire, but literally just a foot-or-two, because though my kit had nice, long wires on each side of each tube, my car is about 22 feet long and a foot 6 feet wide...Anyone ever drive one? Here's a hint: The BEST car ever, especially on Halloween... Anyhow, how can I solve this issue? If all else fails, I will get a second transformer and have that connected to my FRONT battery, thereby having each transformer power only two tubes. Please reply, or EMAIL at The-Headless-Horseman@Hotmail.com Thanks a lot, everyone. |

i take it this kit is the gold series kit? (GS kit) and i'm gonna just throw this out there, you connect all the tubes in series (one big loop) rather then hooking up all the tubes individually to the tranny right? (tranny = transformer)

Hearse For the WIN
When splicing ANY leak can lessen voltage/current so TRIPLE check those connections |

I started my connection at the transformer, connected the rear tube to it, the left tube to that, the front tube to that, the right tube to that and connected the opposite end of the right tube to the other wire on the transformer.
There wasn't much of an issue, given all the other neons and music going on for those hours up until now, the haunt was a spectacular hit. Now I will focus on getting the kit hooked up better. I will make a trip to Lowe's tomorrow and grab some bulk wire (I need some 4 guage anyway for a new inverter that's been on hold, so I could keep the fog machines in the haunt. Now they will return to my car) and get the undercarriage neons running smoothly. Hearse FOR THE WIN indeed. Nothing beats a slick, black, vintage Cadillac with an 8.2 Liter V8 Engine, rollcage, bulletproofing and a hundred pounds of chrome. Like I said, I will be grabbing another kit anyhow, because the tubes are not NEARLY large enough for my car, considering she is over twenty feet long. |

Wait...My transformer has only two wires for connecting them to the tubes. Should I connect individually to the transformer anyhow, by splicing the two wires into eight wires and running two to each tube?
Car electrical systems are nothing new to me, but dealing with Neons is, not really something I never got into, up until now. Seriously, what's better than a full red undercarriage kit when I hit the switch for my fog generators and it billows out from the underside in a glowing red mist, surrounding my car? Nothing, that's what. |

no, you connected it right if its the GS kit, but you could try a new grounding location

My buddies dad had a funeral home AND I bought the Hearse from him ... 59 Caddy
He said here , They had a Coffin that was shipping damaged , I took it and redid the damage and repainted it , Ripped out the interior and Styrofoam lined it , and fiberglassed it and installed a drain ... Worlds most AWESOME cooler |
