hi , my girlfriend bought me 7 colour led underbody kit off ebay for my bday awhile back and i was just wondering if i would be able to connect it to Street Glows music interface kit? All tubes plug into the junction box which then connects to the control box. from here it has a positive negative wire to connect to power source(battery). Since then ive also purchased an interior kit off ebay with the same setup. Hope you guys can help me out with the info i gave. Thanks

Is it a Streetglow brand kit ??? Streetglows have music interfaces built in ...
If not what is the Current draw ???
Most full underbody kits pull too much current on the interface...

I contacted the seller of one and he said the interior kit should only draw around 0.8 amps and the underbody kit 2.52 amps... sound correct?

I forgot with the color change you can't use the music interface as the 12V line will be interupted and cause it to loose color tracks

The way most seven colors work is the "brain" is powered by 12 volts and the brain then pulses the tubes to get the correct color ...

The music interface "flashes" the 12 volts to go with the music ... when th 12 volt flashes the brain will reset and turn off

Don't buy kits on ebay? Both the StreetGlow multi-color and LightStrike kits have built-in music interfaces. I'm also pretty sure PlasmaGlow, FlowLighting and ICELED do too.

Not trying to be a jerk, but you get what you pay for in lighting smile.gif

The SG kits I mentioned have what you're looking for, I know because I've worked with both. I would also assume that the PlasmaGlow, FlowLighting, and ICELED do too.

As I said before, you get what you pay for with lighting kits. I started off with an ebay kit and had it busted in less than a week.

Like badvenge said, if once your controller loses power, it loses memory. There really isn't any way to get around it, every time the music interface flashes, your controller would just reset.

http://www.oznium.com/silicone-encased-led-strip

My girlfriend made me a sign for my shop with some of these in the million color, it looks really sweet. You need the controller box though if you want to pause on one color.

as for being able to hook it up to the music interface, you might run into the same problem with the controller re-setting. You might want to ask some of the guys on the Oz forums about that. I know my gf got a lot of good information over there when she was trying to wire my sign.

She didn't even have to ask me for help, I was so proud of her, lol

Yeah, I think so.

One thing you could think about is a SG wheel well kit for your interior, 7 colors, pattern control, and music interface built in.

It's a little pricey for interior, but it should fit everything you're wanting to do.

I have a 7 color kit with music interface in my interior. wink.gif

seriously...you've been told numerous times to go streetglow and your problems are solved...then you reply every time with nothing but a deflection...why come here if you have no interest in buying streetglow? Streetglow is the LEADER in automotive lighting...we aren't really here to answer questions to people buying cheap azz kits found on flea-bay...why not go to the manufactures message board on the product you bought? Oh yea...cause they don't have support like we do.

I'm glad you're here and hope you continue to participate...just wondering why your against streetglow products but not our advice...be honest here, is it price? Availability? curious here... judging by your screen name and your spelling of the word color...I assume your in canada?
