I am in the process of replacing the Headliner in my Eclipse and ran into a problem that has occured 2 out of 2 times.
I take of the existingheadliner (which was already falling) and find that the "pad" behind it is either completely deteriorated or messed up or something either way what is behind there looks like a spray on fiberglass partical POS. and the best method I found to get it off is to just wipe it with a towel and it all rolls together and just falls off leaving the cardboard behind it perfect with no glue or anything. I am just going to glue my fabric straight to it so if it happens in the future I wont have any pad to screw with. Has anyone else ran into this problem and what is supposed to be back there? Oh and the headliner design is 8 inches of Lime green on the sides with a 2' black stripe down the middle with a Mitsubishi Symbol (lime green) about 18" from point to point in the middle. -------------------- ![]() |

what kind of fabric are you using. usually, when we laid suede or anything like that, the padding or the flock was what gave the material that plush, fluffy look. The padding gives the material depth and a "soft" feeling, so it doesnt look like u just spent a ton of money on suede, and then just slued it to cardboard.

The true Headliner material has the foam padding attached right to it ... It also helps cover wrinkles ect as it's a Biatch to get it 100% Wrinkle free around the hard front/rear corners
ect ... Also trying to line up the stripe you mentioned will be a PITA ... This might help you ... http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-e...er-95-99-a.html |
